Fanfare

"Fanfare" by Mark Livshitz was selected for performance during the 2004-2005 school year. Virtual resident artists Karl Middleman and David Berlin collaborated on a project titled: "Philadelphia Classical Symphony Young Composers Project" to promote Lifelong interest and activity in music among students.

Adventus

"Adventus" by Cody Sosko was selected for performance in connection with the "Young Composers Project".
To help students prepare for the project an on-line course titled "How to write a Fanfare" was developed by David Berlin for use by the students. http://tozier.net/dberlin/fanfare/index.htm All are invited to use it.

Fanfare in G minor

"Fanfare in G minor" by Sarah Caleb was one of the pieces performed by the fully professional Philadelphia Classical Symphony Brass Ensemble Conducted by Karl Middleman.
Entrants also received transportation to the concert and complimentary accommodations for the family courtesy of the Classroom Arts Project for students from P.D.L member schools.

Fanfare for a Fallen Soldier

"Fanfare for a Fallen Soldier" by Maura Johnston is one of the works selected for the "Young Coposers Project" cosponsored by Partners in Distance Learning and the Philadelphia Classical Symphony. A celebratory reception immediately following the concert was given for all participants. Recognition and awards were presented at the concert.
